• Therapy check-in

  • It’s helpful for you and your therapist to periodically set aside time to discuss how you’re feeling about therapy. This can be done at any time during treatment. 

     


    This is an opportunity to: 


    -acknowledge the work you’ve been doing

    -revise your goals or bring in new ones (if applicable)

    -address any relationship concerns between you and your therapist

    -explore any frustrations and brainstorm what might improve your therapy experience & outcomes 

     

     

     

     


    Here are some questions you can think about:

     


    -Are you satisfied with how therapy is going?

     


    -Do you feel supported, accepted, and understood by your therapist?

     


    -Are you putting sufficient effort into therapy and towards any changes you want 

    to make? If not, what’s holding you back?  

     


    -Are you noticing improvements/ progress towards achieving your goals?  

    Are others in your life noticing changes in you, or acting differently with you?

     


    -Do you have any unexpressed feelings towards your therapist that may be

    impacting your work together or your feelings in session?

     


    -What seems to help you in therapy? What is unhelpful or counterproductive?
