Pre-Treatment Instructions for Patients Receiving Intravenous Sedation Anesthesia
Patient Welfare is our first concern, therefore please note the following:
1/ All patients must fast prior to appointment consistent with the following requirements:

Nothing to eat 8 hours prior to appointment

You may have clear fluids and water up to 2 hours prior to appointment, but not
within 2 hours of appointment time.
2/ All patients must not operate a motor vehicle or machinery for a minimum of 18 hours, or longer if drowsiness persists following the anesthetic appointment.
3/ All patients must be accompanied by a responsible adult, to the appointment. Escort must remain in the office during the entire procedure and accompany patient home. Patients without an escort will not be treated and will be charged the missed appointment fee.
4/ All patients must wear comfortable, non restrictive clothing with short sleeves. Refrain from wearing facial make-up or lipstick so that we can judge any color changes in your lips, as well as nail polish.
5/ Please let us know if you have had any medical history changes, and taking any medications, including herbal and/or non-prescription medications.
6/ If you have been instructed by us to take any medicine the night before your appointment, take it as prescribed.
7/ The patient must make all Financial Arrangements prior to the scheduled appointment. All fees are due when treatment is rendered.
8/ A $200.00 deposit is required at time of booking an Intravenous Sedation Appointment. Payment is required in full on the date of service for all surgery appointments.
9/ The patient must not be left alone for 24 hours following appointment.
10/ Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
11/ If you use recreational drugs, you must refrain from usage for 72 hours prior to your appointment.
12/ Bring your Health Card or Photo ID, as Ontarions are required to show their ID in order to be prescribed a narcotic or controlled substance medication.
