You should inform the coordinators and your transplant doctors if you are considering pregnancy, or if you think that you may be pregnant. Whereas we do not encourage pregnancy within the first 2 years after transplant, we want you to feel free to discuss this issue with us so that we can give you the appropriate guidance. This is important for your health, but is even more important for the health of your baby, as some medications can lead to miscarriage or birth defects. Two of the standard anti-rejection medications, Myfortic and CellCept, are clearly contraindicated during pregnancy.
