Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, we are taking proactive steps to address health and safety concerns. First and foremost, we want to maintain a safe work and living space and adopt practices protecting the health of employees, residents, volunteers, visitors, or others. We also want to ensure the continuity of business operations during this pandemic. We ask all employees, residents, and volunteer to cooperate in taking steps to reduce the transmission of communicable diseased in Life Changes, Inc. and the community. Policies are subject to change based on the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC). All members are asked to comply with the following CDC recommended guidelines:
- Take your temperature and that of Life Changes, Inc. residents daily during this time and remain isolated if you have a fever. If you have a fever, immediately give notification to your supervisor.
- Wash your hands frequently with warm, soapy water for a minimum of twenty seconds.
- Cover your mouth with tissues whenever you sneeze or cough, and safely discard used tissues in the trash.
- Avoid people who are ill with respiratory symptoms.
- Clean frequently touched surfaces.
- It is critical employees, residents, or volunteers remain isolated while they are experiencing respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, or fatigue.
- The CDC currently recommends that individuals with temperatures remain in isolation until at least 24-hours after they are free of fever (100.4 degrees F or 37.8 degrees C using an oral thermometer) or signs of a fever without the use of fever-reducing medications.
- Individuals, with symptoms of COVID-19, who report to work or do not isolate will be relocated to a quarantine bed or sent home in accordance with these health guidelines.
- Life Changes, Inc. will provide hand-sanitizers in accordance with CDC guidelines to be used throughout the facility, company vehicle or workplace. Cleaning sprays or wipes will also be provided to clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces such as telephones, keyboard, remote controls and other household or workplace items.
- To limit the number of employees or visitors to residential facilities, Life Changes, Inc. is requesting all non-essential workers work from home when possible.
- Do not host large group gatherings in any facility. Avoid gatherings of ten plus people, other than those that reside in Life Changes, Inc. facility.
- Perform meetings online or via conference call whenever possible. IT support services are available to staff, volunteers and residents who need assistance with technology.
- Residential staff or those having contact with a new admission into Life Changes, Inc. are to administer the COVID-19 screening questionairre immediately when the new admission arrives.
- The COVID-19 screening form is available here or it may be accessed on the company Knowledge Base.
- New admissions are to keep their face coverings in place until they have cleared the COVID-19 screening.
- Each resident is to be provided with COVID-19 appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Do not share PPE.
- Sanitize reusable PPE per manufacturers recommendation prior to each use.
- Ensure PPE is disposed of properly.
- Utilize disposable gloves where appropriate; wash hands with warm soapy water for at least 20 seconds after removing disposable gloves.
- Life Changes, Inc. will provide masks for any individual who needs one.
- Masks or face coverings are mandatory for visitors to any Life Changes, Inc. facility.
- Visitors must complete a COVID-19 SCREENING prior to entry to any Life Changes, Inc. facility.
- Staff, volunteers, and residents are required to wear masks or face coverings when in public areas.
- Provide routine environmental cleaning (doorknobs, keyboards, counters, coffee pots, refrigerator handles, etc.).
- Utilize shoe sanitation protocol.
- Shoes must be left at door and not tracked through the premises.
- Wash clothing items in hot soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Utilize disposable hand towels.
- Increase sanitation of bathroom and kitchen areas.
