The Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine has created a registry to help provide mentorship to behavioral sleep medicine (BSM) trainees and professional across the career span on a wide range of sleep research topics. Mentors are clinicians and researchers with expertise in BSM. Participation in this registry is entirely voluntary.
SBSM will assist with matching registered mentors and mentees based on their mutual mentoring needs and expertise. Once matched, mentors and mentees are responsible for determining goals, objectives, and expectations.
SBSM recommends that mentors and mentees meet at least monthly; however, frequency, duration, and timing of meetings will be left to the discretion of mentor-mentee pairs. At present, this registry does not constitute a formal mentoring program, but rather an opportunity for identifying promising emerging researchers in the field of BSM and connecting them with available mentors.
