    Pitkin County is requesting that all travelers do their part and practice safe travel habits in order to protect each other and continue to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community. All travelers should "Know the Code" and take responsibility for following the CDC guidelines for travel and local Pitkin County COVID-19 requirements.
  • CDC Travel Guidelines 

    1. Get fully vaccinated for COVID-19  at the time you are eligible. Wait 2 weeks after getting fully vaccinated to travel.
    2. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 and are not fully vaccinated, do not travel. 
    3. If you have COVID-like symptoms , do not travel. 
    4. If you are not fully vaccinated, it is recommended to get tested 1-3 days prior to travel.
    5. Unless you are fully vaccinated, if you plan to travel internationally , you will need to get tested 1-3 days before you travel into the United States.

    Pitkin County Requirements 

    1. All individuals 3 years of age and older must wear a mask over their nose and mouth when in public settings - regardless if you have been vaccinated or not. 
    2. Continue to practice physical distancing - avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet from anyone who did not travel with you. 
    3. Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer.
    4. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, self-isolate and seek testing immediately. Use the COVID-19 Testing Site Finder to search for a local testing site that works for you.
    5. If exposed to COVID-19, quarantine and monitor your health for COVID-19 symptoms, even if it prolongs your stay and is at your own expense. 
    6. Limit personal gatherings to no more than 10 individuals from 2 households, including lodging reservations and accomodations.
