A few details about academic internships:
-They can take place in the fall, spring, or summer semester.
-They are usually 3 credit hours, which translates to 120 hours "on the job". The student and worksite will develop a weekly schedule that fits both their needs.
-In order for the internship to be "official" we need to fill out an Intership Learning Contract, which is signed by the student, CCC supervising faculty member, and the worksite supervisor.
-We view internships as a "capstone" experience, where students can apply their classroom knowledge. The more hands-on and interactive the better!
