Support groups and group medical visits are billed to your insurance in the same way as a regular, individual primary care visit is billed. However, because there are other patients sharing their personal information in these groups, you must agree to follow HIPAA standards in order to participate.
By attending this virtual support group, you are agreeing to the following:
You will not share any identifying information about the participants of this group visit to anyone
outside this group.
Identifying information may include: name, date of birth, age, address, job, names of
friends/family, specific health information, medical appointment information, etc.
Any communication outside group (i.e. via text or email) is voluntary, but HIPAA still applies.
Participation in this group is voluntary
When attending group virtually you must be in a private, secure space where the audio and video
cannot be heard or seen by other people in your home
Consider wearing headphones and/or using a white noise machine
I agree to the above HIPAA standards within the context of the MCAS support group.
