GAYLORD SPORTS ASSOCIATION CODE OF CONDUCT
The Sports Association is committed to creating a positive environment for all involved persons including participants, team players, coaches, team personnel, instructors, volunteers and any others involved with or working under the auspices of the Sports Association. The Sports Association expects that all persons shall:
1. SPORTSMANSHIP: Conduct themselves in a positive manner at all times during Sports Association programs or related events. All persons shall maintain high standards of moral and ethical conduct; which includes self- control and responsible behavior, demonstrating respect for all participants, family members, our fans, and our sponsors.
2. LANGUAGE: Use appropriate language. The use of profane, rude, vulgar, inappropriate or abusive language, including obscene gestures is not acceptable.
3. HARRASSMENT OR ABUSE: Respect all participants and not engage in any form of verbal, emotional, physical, or sexual misconduct, harassment or abuse. These include but are not limited to offensive language, jokes, bullying, hazing or other verbal, graphic or physical conduct or expressions relating to race, sex, religion, color, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or other factors protected by law.
4. SUBSTANCE ABUSE: Not use or possess illegal substances or drugs and/or alcohol or tobacco if a minor. Will not use prohibited substances or misuse prescribed substances. Will not be intoxicated or under the undue influence of alcohol or any banned or illegal substance.
5. PROPERTY: Not engage in destruction of property, vandalism, acts of sabotage or theft in regards to property of Gaylord Hospital, Sports Association and any other facilities, equipment or property being utilized by the Sports Association.
6. VIOLENCE: Not commit any attempted, threatened or actual acts of violence that endangers or is likely to endanger any persons involved with Sports Association programs, including but not limited to: fighting, physical intimidation, initiating a fight or scuffle or any threatening statement, harassment or behavior that gives another person reasonable cause to believe that his or her health or safety is at risk.
7. SAFETY: Not engage in any behavior which would endanger the health, well-being or safety of any persons involved, including the participant. This includes but is not limited to: not using required industry standard safety equipment, not attending programs with a transmittable illness, not attending programs if medically contraindicated.
8. ILLEGAL ACTS: Not engage in any act which is a violation of applicable Federal or State or local laws.
9. CONDUCT OUTSIDE OF SPORTS ASSOCIATION PROGRAMS: This code of conduct extends beyond sport programs. Whether attending programs, travelling to and from programs and at all other times, inappropriate behaviors whether verbal or written can reflect negatively on the program.
10. DISCIPLINARY ACTION: Persons involved in violation of any part of this code of conduct are subject to disciplinary action which may include but is not limited to the following in any order or combination: immediate removal from event, verbal or written reprimand, probation, suspension from the team or program ranging from one event to a lifetime ban, reimbursement of expenses caused by the misconduct (medical bills, destroyed property, etc), arrest and prosecution for criminal acts or other condition which will resolve the misconduct.
