Single cases among staff or children/students in childcare and other programs serving children or youth do not have to be reported to the local health department. Licensed childcare sites may refer to CDSS FAQ. For more information refer to CDPH Guidance for Child Care Providers and Programs (October 2022 ca.gov).
As of January 1st, 2023 the Cal/OSHA requirement for reporting of employee outbreaks of 3 or more to the local health department is no longer required. Schools, childcare, and programs serving children and youth must continue to comply with the rest of Labor Code 6409.6 by notifying employees exposed to COVID-19 in the workplace.
San Benito County Public Health Services encourages the voluntary reporting of outbreaks.
Schools, childcare, and programs serving children and youth may report outbreaks by completing this form when 3 or more of their setting’s population including students and staff, have reported confirmed COVID-19 cases over a 14-day period.
