The Family Visitation & Resource House is designed with family connections and reunification in mind. The goal of our monitored exchanges/transfers is to provide a neutral and safe environment for the transfer of your child(ren). Our policies are intended to ensure the safety of all parties, facilitate positive family interactions, and promote family bonding.
Monitored Exchanges
- Monitored exchanges or transfer of child(ren) can occur following referral by self, attorney, mediator, court and/or other party.
- Orientation/intake to review rules and procedures must occur with both parties before transfers/exchanges can occur.
- Transfers/exchanges at the Family Visitation & Resource House must be scheduled in advance.
- ROAN team member(s) will relay information regarding the child(ren) between parties when necessary. However, ROAN will not transfer any legal documents, insurance information, mail, etc.; and child(ren) may not be used for this purpose either.
- Transfers should take no longer than five minutes and should take place on time. If transfer takes longer than allotted and/or you are late for the transfer without calling, the party causing the delay will be charged a late fee.
- Arrival/departure locations and times are scattered.
- Visiting/non-custodial party should use the parking lot in the back of the facility and enter through the back door, remaining in the back foyer area until assisted by a ROAN team member.
- Custodial party should park on Crystal Lake Avenue and enter through the front door of the facility and wait with the child(ren) until assisted by a ROAN team member.
- Party with the child(ren) will be permitted to depart first; other party is requested to wait in the facility until released by ROAN team member.
