In case of an emergency:
Normatec Compression (NC) is a non-invasive modality used to decrease pain, reduce swelling, and enhance healing and recovery, amongst other benefits. Currently, insurances do not recognize this treatment as “medically necessary” and it is thus offered only as a cash-pay service.
Please take a moment to review this document so that you may best understand the appropriateness and risk/benefit of utilizing NC.
Rare side effects that can result from NC include joint or muscle soreness, bruising, or pain. Other extremely rare risks include exacerbation of any of the below medical conditions that could result in a cardiovascular or cerebrovascular accident and subsequent disability or sudden death. Keep in mind that these are rare risks related to any form of exercise.
It is important to review your health history to ensure NC is safe and appropriate for you. Having had, currently having, or developing any of the conditions listed below does not necessarily disqualify you from NC but will need to be discussed with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy or your Primary Care Physician prior to utilizing NC.
Any checked condition must be discussed with a therapist, and in some cases, with your Primary Care Provider, to determine appropriateness for NC.
I understand that I may benefit from NC but that results cannot be guaranteed or assured. I also understand that there are rare side effects and risks that can occur because of NC, as described above. I have reviewed the above document, have consulted with necessary medical professionals, and personally take responsibility for any of the listed side effects or risks.
