Dear Homeowners,
The land in front of our subdivision has always been classified as commercial lots and were selling as commercial lots when Copper Lakes Subdivision was selling its lots and houses were being built here. Everyone that purchased lots here knew that the land in front of the subdivision was for commercial built out.
We did not know that the plans were going to change to have a hotel and apartments built right in front of our subdivision which will affect our quality of life and our privacy because of the 3 story buildings being proposed next to our easement. We do not object to any commercial development as proposed when we purchased the lots here at our subdivision, what we object to is the apartment complexes (81 units) and hotel (30 units) that will affect privacy in our backyards, property value, school district and traffic on Barker Cypress Rd. Adding more concrete buildings and adequate parking, 2 per unit plus guest parking and parking for the hotel, will also have effect on our existing flood problem in this area. Some sort of pile digging will be needed and can cause damage to nearby slabs, not covered by most home insurance companies.

We, the undersigned, call on Commissioner Ramsey and the Precinct 3 of Harris County to stop the idea of building a 30 units hotel and 81 units apartment complex in front of our subdivision (Copper Lakes Subdivision).
We are not against economic development and welcome commercial enterprise in front of our subdivision but not a hotel and a massive unit apartment complex. The building of these apartments affects the quality of life for our family, friends, and neighbors.
We ask of you please do not approve or allow the hotel and these apartments to be built in front of our neighborhood. It affects the neighborhoods that are within our district.
