Intensive Psychotherapy
Intensive psychotherapy is designed in such a way that the client attends more frequent sessions and longer sessions with the therapist, within a relatively short period of time.
During the free 30-minute initial consultation to ensure we are a good fit and that this format is appropriate. You can expect that session length and frequency will be determined at your initial consultation.
Afterward, we schedule a 1.5-hour Assessment and Preparation appointment, where we will determine and prioritize the targeted issues to be focused on during our intensive sessions.
The subsequent sessions will involve several accelerated change therapy modalities, which are primarily Brainspotting, and EMDR, as well as psycho-education. I may include somatic, expressive arts and EFT techniques. After each session, we will discuss your after-care plan in-between intensives.
Intensive psychotherapy is not covered by health insurance and is considered private pay. I do not formally assess for a medical diagnosis or use procedural medical codes, rather I focus on the multidimensional person, their targeted issues, and goals for personal wellness.
Consider the advantages of intensive sessions. It allows clients to return to their busy lives, achieves full resolution, and is long-term and cost-effective. I understand it's a significant investment, and I always advise clients to make an informed decision about their specific goals.
