Normatec Compression (NC) is a non-invasive modality used to decrease pain, reduce swelling, and enhance healing and recovery, amongst other benefits. Currently, insurances do not recognize this treatment as “medically necessary” and it is thus offered only as a cash-pay service.

Rare side effects that can result from NC include joint or muscle soreness, bruising, or pain. Other extremely rare risks include exacerbation of any of the below medical conditions that could result in a cardiovascular or cerebrovascular accident and subsequent disability or sudden death. Keep in mind that these are rare risks related to any form of exercise.
It is important to review your health history to ensure NC is safe and appropriate for you. Having had, currently having, or developing any of the conditions listed below does not necessarily disqualify you from NC but will need to be discussed with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy or your Primary Care Physician prior to utilizing NC.
