  • All classes will take place at TCBDD 45 North Rd. Niles Ohio, 44446 Tomaski Center Training Room

  • CLASS CONTENT/OVERVIEW:

    2 hours of training covering: (a)  "National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals" code of ethics (b)  Rights of individuals set forth in section5123.62 of the Revised Code (c) Empathy-based care. 6 hours covering: (a)  Recognizing and reporting major unusual incidents and unusual incidents, agency-specific data regarding major unusual incidents, and strategies for preventing major unusual incidents (b)  Review of health and welfare alerts issued by the department since previous year's training (c)  Additional Topics: (i)  Components of quality care (to include: interpersonal relationships and trust; cultural competency; effective communication; person-centered philosophy, planning, and practice; implementing individual service plans; trauma-informed care; empathy-based care) Health and safety (iii) Positive behavioral support to include: creating positive culture; and behavioral support strategies and role of the direct support professional including documentation; crisis intervention
