Health & Safety Requirements
All personnel shall wear approved protective footwear which meets ANSI Z41-1999 Standards in areas where there is a potential for injury when employees are engaged in activities having the potential to cause injury. This includes but is not limited to the following activities: facility maintenance or repair activities, electrical activities, construction activities, automotive activities, material handling activities, shipping & receiving clerks, warehouse laborers and grounds maintenance activities.
Along with meeting the general requirements of the ANSI Z41-1999 standard, protective footwear may need to meet additional ANSI specifications. Employees who are required to work in areas having the potential for electrical shock must wear protective footwear meeting the ANSI Z41-1999 Static Dissipative standard.
Employees will be provided a yearly subsidy up to 50% of their purchase with a max reimbursement of $75.00 towards the direct purchase of protective footwear.
Employees must submit a shoe expense report (Original Receipt) within 5 days of
purchase to the OSHA Safety Coordinator along with proof that the footwear meets ANSI A1264.2 or ASTMF1677 (must be attached to back of receipt). Please allow up to 30 days for reimbursement. Eligible employees are entitled for reimbursement or a subsidized purchase of protective footwear once every 12 months from last purchase. Purchases for footwear not meeting the ANSI or ASTM specifications will not be reimbursed. Purchases made before 360 days from last purchase will not be reimbursed.
