Verification of permission to do background checks:

I understand that the position of Superintendent of Schools may involve a high level of personal and professional scrutiny from constituents. Accordingly, I expressly consent for a full and comprehensive background check as part of the superintendent application process. If I am selected as a finalist for this position, the results of the comprehensive background check will be shared with members of the Board of Trustees in a confidential, closed meeting. The comprehensive background check may include, but not be limited to, verification of social security number, verification of educational background, verification of current and previous residences, public records search including civil and criminal judicial filings, character references from current and former employers and professional colleagues, consumer credit report and review of publicly available social media sites and content. I expressly consent to the release of all former employment records from every former employer, including evaluative instruments. Background information obtained pursuant to this consent shall be used for the sole purpose of allowing the firm of Leon | Alcala, PLLC to make legal and personnel recommendations to the Board of Trustees and shall be maintained as attorney-client and attorney work-product material.
