Please call your insurance provider and ask the questions below:
- Will my policy cover LabCorp bloodwork?*
If completed by LabCorp and ordered by an out-of-network chiropractor**, what is my coverage for preventative testing?
- Deductible waived? yes / no
- If no, how much is left on my deductible?
- What Percentage is covered?
If completed by LabCorp and ordered by an out-of-network chiropractor**, what is my coverage for diagnostic testing?
- Deductible waived? yes / no
- If no, how much is left on my deductible?
- What Percentage is covered?
* We can also do the blood work through Sonora Quest but prefer Lab Corp, as some tests can not be ran with Sonora Quest. If neither option is covered, then you would have to pay out of pocket - click 'yes' above and it will give you the pricing.
** If your insurance will not cover for an out-of-network chiropractor, ask if it will cover if your medical doctor (or primary care physician) orders it. If they will only cover if your medical doctor orders bloodwork, you will have to confirm with your medical doctor to see if he or she will order bloodwork that we are requesting and schedule an appointment with them to get that bloodwork completed. You will be responsible for requesting that your medical doctor forwards us the test results.
Why Call?
The purpose of this call is to find out if it would be better for you to purchase discounted out of pocket bloodwork from us or have your bloodwork billed through your insurance.
One fact you should be aware of before even calling your insurance is that if bloodwork is billed through your insurance, the test findings will go on your permanent record and will affect future premiums and ratings. If you do not want this to happen, you can purchase discounted bloodwork panels from us. However, if you would still like to pursue insurance coverage, it is crucial that you thoroughly interrogate your insurance company about bloodwork coverage. We have had several cases where the patient did not receive enough information regarding their coverage and ended up with a HUGE bloodwork bill that could have been much less if purchased from out office.
Above are the questions you must ask your insurance to help you determine if it would be beneficial for you to go through insurance. If you determine that you want your insurance billed, this information will give us what we need to order the bloodwork correctly. Be sure to document everything, including the date and time and the person you spoke with.
