Arrangements for Arrival and Departure:
Bridges does not provide transportation to or from appointments. Bridges is on the bus line and in some cases, insurances may be able to provide transportation options to and from medical appointments. Bridges offers telehealth appointments if transportation is an issue. If you are having difficulty keeping appointments due to transportation problems, please speak with your therapist.
If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment, please call 24 hours in advance. It is required that parents of minor children supervise their children and remain in the building during their appointment time. If a child loses control of their behavior in the building, it is expected that the parent will control the child, while staff contact emergency personnel if needed.
Fee Agreement:
A child’s parent or legal guardian is responsible for providing accurate financial and insurance information at the time of requesting services and scheduling an intake appointment. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for co-pays and deductibles as designated by their insurance coverage. If the child’s insurance changes during the course of treatment, the parent or legal guardian is responsible for informing Bridges of the changes. If the child has no insurance coverage, a copayment will be established using the family income and the current US Poverty Guidelines. Parents and legal guardians are expected to pay their co-pays, deductibles at the time of their appointments.
Procedures for Medical Emergencies:
In case of a medical or psychiatric emergency, Bridges staff will call 911 for assistance. In the case of a minor injury, Bridges has first aid kits available, to be used by parents or legal guardians of minors. Parents or guardians are requested to ask about the location of the first aid kit if needed. Another service available to you as a client of Bridges is our crisis line for clinical and medication issues outside of our posted hours of operation, managed by South Central Crisis Service (SCCS). The crisis line ensures clinical availability after the agency closes, prior to opening, on weekends and holidays, and during closure due to inclement weather. The purpose of the service is to provide crisis intervention in urgent situations and the service can be accessed by dialing the agency main phone number, 203-878-6365.
Procedures for the Administration of Medication:
Bridges and its staff do not administer medication to child clients
Mandated Reporting:
Child clinicians are mandated reporters for disclosures of suspected neglect or abuse, pursuant to Section 17a-101 of the Connecticut General Statutes. Clinicians report the information to the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Careline at 1-800-842-2288.
