From July 2018, the Australian Psychological Society recommended fee for standard consultations (50+ mins) with a Psychologist is $251.00. We continually strive to make our services as affordable as possible for our clients. Until January 2018, our fee for standard consultations (50+ mins) with a Clinical Psychologist will be $200.00. The price for Psychologists will be $150.00. Bulk billing is available for Pension Card holders eligible for Medicare funding.
Letters and Reports
Letters and Psychological Reports are billed according to the amount of time required to complete them following our Fee Schedule which can be obtained from our reception or viewed on our Website at regionalmentalhealth.com.au. Letters and Psychological Reports do not attract a Medicare rebate and are usually not claimable as a private health fund rebate. Invoices for letters and reports will be emailed upon completion of your report. The terms for payment of these invoices is seven days net. In the case of financial hardship, please discuss your circumstances with the Practice Manager, Andrew Crosby.
Fees are payable at the time of the consultation. Payments may be made by EFTPOS, MasterCard, Visa, PayPal or cash. If our reception is unattended at the time of your consultation an invoice will be emailed to you. The terms for payment of these invoices is seven days net.
We require 24 hours notice of any need to change or cancel an appointment. An administrative fee of $120.00 will be charged for non-attendance or cancellation with less than 24 hours notice. Please note that Medicare and private health funds will not cover fees incurred for late cancellations or missed appointments. In situations of genuine hardship, please arrange to discuss your situation with the Practice Manager.
Regional & Rural Mental Health Services reserves the right to reschedule appointments at any time without compensation if it is deemed necessary due to staff illness or other unforeseen circumstances.
In providing a psychological service to you, your Psychologist will need to collect and record personal information from you that is relevant to your current situation. This information is a necessary part of the psychological assessment and treatment that is conducted.
You may access the material recorded in your file upon request, subject to the exceptions in National Privacy Principle 6. A fee may be charged to cover scanning and photocopying expenses incurred by our practice for the reproduction of your records which are held by us.
All personal information gathered by the Psychologist during the provision of the psychological service will remain confidential and secure, except when:
It is subpoenaed by a court; or
Failure to disclose the information would place you or another person at risk; or
Your prior approval has been obtained to:
provide a written report to another professional or agency (e.g., a GP or a lawyer); or to
discuss the material with another person (e.g., a parent or employer)
Case Reviews are mandated by Medicare (every six sessions)
