• Get Involved - Join a FALA Committee

    Florida Assisted Living Association

  • FALA members have an opportunity to affect change across the senior living care and services community.

    FALA membership provides a platform for those assisted living professionals who are interested in investing their skills and expertise in shaping policy and influencing access to quality of care and services. 

    GET INVOLVED by joining at least one of FALA's many committees. Details on each committee's purpose is listed below. To join a committee, simply complete the application and click submit. Note that committee choices should be submitted by March 31 for the current calendar year term. Some committees may not have openings after this date but your name will remain on the interested participants list for the following calendar year.  Also note that only employees of FALA Facility Members or Associate Members may participate in any committee.

     

  • Annual Conference Committee - 2024 Committee is Full!

    This committee develops the overall program for the annual conference, including theme, special events, and the tradeshow, and works as onsite volunteers at conference. The committee also collaborates with the Education Committee on the educational content of the conference program. This committee meets at least monthly via conference calls in the six months prior to conference.

  • Awards Committee

    This Committee reviews nominations for and selects recipients of FALA's annual awards, including the Administrator of the Year Award and the Associate Member of the Year Award. The committee may also develop new awards for the acknowledgement and interaction of members. 

  • Bylaws Committee

    This committee reviews and makes recommended edits as needed to the FALA By-Laws for consideration by the FALA Board of Directors. Most meetings are conducted via conference call.

  • Education Committee

    This committee assists with the selection of conference speakers and educational sessions for continuing education credits (CEUs) through collaboration with the Conference Committee. The committee is also engaged in guidance of future educational and training programs for association members and non-members. The committee meets several times during the year via conference calls.

  • Legislative Committee

    This committee recommends the legislative priorities and actions to the FALA Board and follows activity during Legislative Session. The committee meets several times a year via conference, including weekly calls during Session.

  • LTC Funding Committee

    This Committee was developed to proactively address availability of long-term care (LTC) funding to seniors while providing timely and adequate reimbursement to providers through collaboration with government agencies and LTC Managed Care Providers.

  • Membership Committee

    This committee works to develop, promote, and grow FALA Facility and Associate membership through member recruitment campaigns, phone calls, facility visits, and networking at events such as FALA Chapter meetings. The committee also monitors and develops enhancements to member benefits, as well as recommends changes to the annual dues structure when needed.
