  • About This Evaluation

    Menopause treatment isn't one-size-fits-all.

Your symptoms, phase of ovarian function, health history, personal risk factors, and preferences can all influence which treatment options may be worth considering.

This educational assessment will help you better understand what you're experiencing and introduce options you may want to discuss with your healthcare provider — including menopause hormone therapy (MHT), non-hormonal medications, vaginal estrogen, lifestyle strategies, and other approaches.

This assessment is for educational purposes only. It does not diagnose a condition, determine whether a treatment is safe for you, or replace individualized medical advice. Instead, think of it as a starting point for a more informed conversation with a healthcare provider who understands menopause care.

If you're already a patient at true. Women’s Health, your provider can help you interpret your results as part of your care.

No matter where you are in your menopause journey, you have options.

  • HOW ARE YOU FEELING?

Your phase of ovarian function tells us one part of the story. Your symptoms tell us another.

The Menopause Transition Scale™ (MTS™) is a validated seven-question tool that helps you take an inventory of your symptoms and identify which ones are affecting you most. Tracking your MTS score over time can also help you see how your symptoms change in response to lifestyle adjustments or treatment.

Your responses are kept completely confidential.

  • Understanding Your MTS™ Score
Tracking your MTS™ score weekly can help you monitor changes in your symptoms and notice patterns over time. The scale helps you identify your most bothersome symptoms and see how they respond as you make adjustments in your daily life or begin a new treatment or medication.

The MTS™ score helps you understand how your symptoms are changing.

A lower MTS score means your symptoms are more frequent or bothersome, while a higher score means your symptoms are less severe or better managed. Your score isn’t “good” or “bad”—it’s simply a way to track how you’re feeling over time so you can see what’s changing, what’s working, and what might need more attention.

At true. Women’s Health: we use SEEDS™—the Seven Essential Elements for Daily Success—to support your overall health and help you understand how daily habits may influence your symptoms. Small changes in these areas can make a big difference in how you feel!

TIP: Consider recording your MTS score in a journal each week, along with notes about your SEEDS habits. Tracking both together can help you see what’s working and where you may need extra support. Over time, you’ll start to see how changes in your daily routines (like better sleep or more movement) may influence your symptoms.

Your Health History & Treatment Considerations

Your health history helps shape the conversation.

Certain medical conditions and health factors can influence whether systemic MHT is an appropriate option, which type or route of treatment may be considered, or whether another treatment may be a better fit.

A “yes” answer does not automatically rule out all forms of hormone therapy. Some of these factors require a more individualized assessment with a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner.

This assessment will provide general education and next steps—but your provider can offer the personalized guidance you deserve.

  • Have you gone more than 10 years since your last period?*
  • Starting MHT later in the menopause transition may change benefits and risks. A trained provider can help guide this decision.

  • Have you had breast cancer?*
  • A history of breast cancer requires careful evaluation, but it does not always rule out every form of hormone therapy.

  • Have you had a heart attack?*
  • A history of heart attack requires individualized review. Your cardiovascular health, timing, and other risk factors can influence which treatment options may be appropriate.

  • Have you had a stroke?*
  • The type of stroke and your individual risk factors matter when considering hormone therapy. A menopause-trained provider can help you review the benefits and risks.

  • Have you had a blood clot in your legs or lungs?*
  • A history of blood clots may affect which types or routes of hormone therapy are considered. An individualized evaluation is recommended.

  • Have you had migraines with temporary blindness?*
  • Migraine with aura is not always an absolute contraindication, but it may require careful hormone selection.

  • Have you had a hysterectomy?*
  • A hysterectomy may change what type of hormone therapy is needed, but it does not exclude you from MHT options.
