    Applicant must obtain original (no copies accepted) eligibility documents. Please note preferred eligibility documents are underlined and in bold print for sections A-D below. In compliance with WIOA rules and regulations by the Department of Labor (DOL), Section 668.300, all applicants must submit verification of eligibility documents for the following:

    A. BIRTHDATE/AGE: State Identification/Driver's License (not expired); Birth Certificate; Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB).

    B. RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS: Utility Bill; Lease Agreement; Letter of Residence (for third-party signer; provided in application packet or online); Rent Receipt. The document used for this section must have the same address as is on the WIOA application along with applicant's name.

    C. CITIZENSHIP: Social Security Card; Birth Certificate; Voter Registration Card

    D. INDIAN VERIFICATION: Tribal Enrollment Card/Letter or BIA Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB Card).

    E. SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION: Male applicants born on or after January 01, 1960 must provide a Registration Acknowledgement letter from the online Selective Service System or a telephone call will be made by the WIOA Program Assistant to verify registration.

    F. EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION: I-9 form (included in this application packet or at the link provided on our website)

    G.EMPLOYMENT STATUS: The WIOA applicant will complete either option a. or option b. below

    1. APPLICANT WHO IS CURRENTLY EMPLOYED/UNDEREMPLOYED - FAMILY INCOME: Current income documents, from all adults in the household, covering a 30 day time period from the date this application is ready to be signed-off on. Documents include:  Check stubs from current and/or previous employer(s); Unemployment Insurance (UI) documents; Public assistance award letter(s) (SSI, VA, etc If an applicant is underemployed and/or the need for upgrading or retraining is needed, letters from employers for determination of services will be required.
    2. APPLICANT WHO IS CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED: In lieu of family income, current unemployed applicants will be required to  register with Texas Workforce Commission and provide verification of registration for unemployment status. Please go to www.workintexas.com and register. Please provide Program Assistant with the Work In Texas welcome message which will be sent to your account mailbox when you complete your registration. If you cannot print out the welcome message, you may submit a screenshot of your welcome message or your Work In Texas homepage, which will have your name at the top of page.

    H. Complete the O'Net Interest Profiler at www.mynextmove.org/explore/ip After completing all questions, you will be at the RESULTS tab (middle bottom of the page If possible, print out results and submit to Program Assistant; if you cannot print out results, please screenshot & submit to Program Assistant with results for the following:

  • Once paperwork/documentation is completed and submitted by the applicant and eligibility has been determined by the WIOA Program Assistant, the folder will be approved for services by the Employment & Training Department Director. Upon approval, the applicant will then be referred to the WIOA Job Developer for job search/short-term training assistance or to the WIOA CRT (Classroom Training) Case Manager for long-term training assistance. All applicants' first session with their case manager include an assessment and orientation of program services.
