Jotform’s key features

With Jotform’s drag-and-drop builder, you can create any type of online form, including

These forms are both embeddable and highly customizable. If you need advanced features like conditional logic, approval workflows, automatic translation, or form pre-population, then Jotform is the platform for you..

Jotform even enables you to edit PDFs, build mobile apps, generate reports, and collect e-signatures, so rest assured that a variety of your business needs will be covered when you sign up.

Typeform’s key features

Typeform’s main draw is its form builder, which is easy to use and navigate. With Typeform, you can design surveys, order forms, quizzes, and more, and customize them using conditional logic.

You can also use analytic insights to explore response data, AI to improve your form, and interactive videos to increase user engagement.

Key differences between Jotform and Typeform

While both Jotform and Typeform offer great user-friendly form builders, one major difference between them is that Jotform provides two types of forms.

You can use Jotform to make both Classic forms, where all questions are listed on one page, and conversational Card forms, which show one question at a time. Typeform’s only option is the conversational form.

Jotform also offers other products in addition to forms, such as Jotform Apps and Jotform Tables. Meanwhile, Typeform focuses largely on modernizing online forms.

Functionality

Differences in core functionality involve the kinds of forms you’re able to make with each platform. Jotform gives you the ability to make both traditional and conversational forms, while Typeform’s central product is conversational forms.

You can ask multiple kinds of questions in either form builder. Both provide multiple-choice, short text, long text, dropdown, and other question types.

Another difference between the two is that Jotform’s form builder has drag-and-drop functionality, while Typeform requires users to select and add questions from a menu.

Both allow some customization of conditional form logic. This means that you can hide fields, show branching questions, or calculate values according to a user’s responses. For example, if someone is filling out a survey and indicates that they’re in a specific age range, they’ll see questions you set up specifically for that age group.

Templates

Both platforms provide templates for almost every possible purpose and even host user-created templates. If you’re looking for feedback, application, RSVP, survey, poll, or lead generation forms, Jotform and Typeform have those at the ready for you.

Typeform hosts an AI tool that can generate a form for you. However, while Typeform offers over 3,000 templates, Jotform provides more than three times that number, with over 10,000. A little more variety couldn’t hurt.

Integrations

Jotform and Typeform have integrations with essential apps like HubSpot, Mailchimp, and Salesforce, and both integrate with trusted payment processors Stripe and Square.

Jotform offers a greater variety of payment processor integrations, though. Along with Stripe and Square, Jotform provides 40 other payment integrations, including PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Authorize.net, and Venmo. You can also easily connect data to a CRM tool of your choice.

Jotform’s total number of native integrations comes to over 150, while Typeform has over 120.

Pricing

Both platforms offer free plans, but they differ in usage limits. For example, Typeform’s free plan grants you unlimited forms, but you can receive only 10 responses per month. Jotform’s free plan limits you to five forms with 100 responses per month.

If you’d like to upgrade, the least expensive Typeform plan costs $29 per month. This gets you up to 100 monthly responses. On Jotform’s side, the Bronze plan bumps you up to 25 forms and 1,000 responses per month.

For enterprise-level organizations, both offer custom plans.

Security

If your organization must comply with specific security protocols, you should, of course, see which platform offers the compliance you need.

Jotform and Typeform follow many of the same security protocols, such as SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS. These ensure that information from your online forms stays secure and private.

Jotform also follows CCPA, FERPA, and the HECVAT. Additional protocols Typeform follows include OWASP and NIST.

Customer support

If you ever need help using one of these platforms, both of them supply you with user guides, webinars, video tutorials, blog posts, and online customer support representatives.

Along with these resources, Typeform also hosts a community forum, and Jotform displays public support questions so you can check if your issue already has a solution.
