1st Grade

It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know Asha so far this year. Asha is a kind and friendly child who is helpful and supportive to teachers and classmates alike. Over the first several weeks of school, we’ve been delighted to see Asha coming out of her shell. At the beginning of the year, she primarily chose to play by herself or needed support from an adult to join play with her classmates. More recently, she has been jumping right in, especially playing an imaginative “performance” game where a group of children act out silly scenes together.

As a learner, Asha is detail oriented and takes her time. She has taken a particular liking to writing stories, which she sometimes chooses to do during Play Workshop. Asha is engaged in our group conversations and lessons, sharing her point of view and asking questions when she needs clarification.

Asha is curious and enthusiastic about all we are learning and sharing in inquiry! She asks great questions and often has something to share. Asha’s empathy has really shone in conversations that address injustice, and she is clearly passionate about standing up for what is right.

We can’t wait to see how Asha continues to grow and thrive this year.
