What is a sales funnel? How does it work? These are some of the questions that I had prior to understanding funnels.
Let me explain. A sales funnel is a sequence of necessary steps towards the purchase of a good or service. For example, for a person to buy a car they have to see the car, go to the car lot, write up a bill of sale, and pay for the car. Other things can occur in between those steps, but the concern is only in regards to the necessary steps.
There are many types of sales funnels. For example, lead generation, sales, marketing, and discovery funnel to name a few. Try not to get overwhelmed by the various types of funnels.
The Basic Sales Funnel
This simple basic sales funnel is structured with four stages. Each stage is a step that the customer makes in the funnel. The customer starts at number one (the top) and then goes through the steps within each stage until they reach number four (the bottom) which is the sales stage.

A lot of factors impact sales. I made some assumptions since I don't know every detail regarding the website and customer acquisition process for Maecenas tincidunt lacus at velit. Some of the things that could impact sales through your website are: search engine optimization, traffic source, product type and cost, device (mobile, tablet, or pc), platform (windows, Mac, iOS, Android, etc.), reviews, delivery options, and location. This sales funnel plan is based on a perfect world assuming that you have no website issues, no abandoned carts, a global customer base, and so on. I assumed that about 4.4% (the standard benchmark) of visitors would actually add an item to the cart. I also assumed that at least half of the customers who add items to the cart will actually checkout since a lot of people add items and never checkout. Lastly, the targets that I provide are estimates.
You need 1696 people to view your ad in order to reach your visit target.
You need 1696 visitors to your website in order to reach your add to cart target.
You need 1696 people to put an item in their cart in order to reach your sales target.
You need 1696 sales at $1696 per sale in order to make $1696 per month.
